I call the gardening my team and I do "horticultural gardening" to distinguish it from the mow and blow many other gardeners do. My crews perform complete landscape maintenance and lawn maintenance including fertilizing, mowing, weeding, adjusting irrigation, dead heading, mulching, aesthetic pruning and trimming, aerating and planting. The gardens we tend come in many styles including California native plants, formal, lawns, California English, Mediterranean, rose and vegetable gardens.

To keep plants healthy, I prefer to use preventative measures rather then chemical solutions. If necessary, I will address a problem with the only the safest chemical solutions available.

CLEAN UPS

Sometimes gardens sit untended for weeks, months, even years. We will clean up large or small gardens, including cutting or removing large weeds, and trimming and pruning overgrown plants. I will consult with you on what will be done to get your garden back in shape.

REAL ESTATE STAGING

I work with realtors and homeowners who are selling and wish to show the property or home at its best. We can help you get that great "curb appeal" by adding flowering plants and creating an inviting garden appearance.

CONSULTING

I work with homeowners groups, condo and townhouse associations, and property managers who have their own landscape maintenance crews but need some expert advice. Perhaps you need an uninvolved third party to tell you if your maintenance crew is doing the right things or other issues relating to plants or maintenance. It can be beneficial to consult with someone who doesn't stand to benefit financially from the work and who has both garden expertise as well as experience running a landscape maintenance crew.

In some cases I consult with HOA to help them decide how to update and refresh their landscape. I work with them to help decide what new plantings to add and what to keep.

I also consult with homeowners who are gardeners but want to learn more about how to care for their garden, what plants or trees to purchase, and where to best place them, or any particular garden issue they want expert help with.

DESIGN

I design gardens for a small number of clients each year. I enjoy creating lovely, interesting spaces to relax and delight in. With this in mind, I work with you to design gardens that reflect your interests, needs and desires. I can also provide kid-friendly spaces by drawing on my experience as a parent of three.
